Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is an GOVT OF INDIA organisation to recruit staff for various posts in the various Ministries and Departments of the Government of India and in Subordinate Offices.

This commission is an attached office of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) which consists of Chairman, two Members and a Secretary - cum - Controller of Examinations. His post is equivalent to the level of Additional Secretary to the Government of India.

The Staff Selection Commission has its headquarters at New Delhi. At present, there are seven Regional Offices at Allahabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati, Chennai, Bangalore and two Sub-Regional Offices at Raipur and Chandigarh. Each Regional Office is headed by a Regional Director and each Sub-Regional office is headed by a Deputy-Director.

SSC Eastern Region Recruitment 2015 – 83 Asst Archivist, Assistant & Other Posts: Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Eastern Region has released notification for the recruitment of 83 Assistant Archivist (Oriental Records, General), Data Processing Assistant, Scientific Assistant (Mechanical, RPT, Electrical), Investigator Grade-II, Metro-logical Assistant, Assistant (Architectural Department) vacancies in Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) / Group ‘C’ (Non-Technical). Eligible candidates may apply in the prescribed application format on or before 20-07-2015 by 05:00 P.M & 27-07-2015 by 05:00 P.M for remote areas. Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18-30 years for Post 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 18-27 years for Post 3 as on closing date for receipt of application. Age relaxation is applicable 5 years for SC/ ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PwD, 13 years for Pwd (OBC), 15 years for PwD (SC/ ST) & for Ex-Servicemen & others as per rules.

Educational Qualification: Candidates should possess Master’s Degree in History with an optional paper in Indian History of post-1500 period of a recognized University or equivalent with an optional paper in Persian language at Degree level for post 1, Master’s Degree in History with an optional paper in Indian History of post-1750 period of a recognized University or equivalent for post 2, Diploma in Architecture from a recognized University or Institute for post 9. Selection Process: Candidates will be selected based on educational qualification, academic records, percentage of marks & Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test.

Examination Fee:Candidates have to pay Rs. 50/- (No fee for Women/ SC/ ST/ PH (PWD)/ unemployed EXS candidates) through “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” or “SBI Net Banking/ Credit Cards/ Debit Cards” only. These stamps are available at counter of all Post Offices of the country. These Recruitment Fee stamps must be pasted on the application form.
